I've always been an avid writer and most recently have missed simply writing for the fun of it. Working part-time at a literary center where people always ask about what I write (and having to say that I haven't been...) has made me think about the fact that yes, I have an English degree for a reason! I love reading friends' blogs and began thinking about how much fun it would be to have my own virtual space to spill out my thoughts and our comical adventures, which could also serve as a way to keep those who are interested updated on the happenings of our life together.
Many friends have encouraged me to create one, but when I first brought it up to my husband, he didn't exactly jump for joy (and with good reason as I seem to be inclined to include every single detail of a story or my day while recounting it to others, and while my detail-oriented mind serves me well in the workplace, he was afraid others might find such pieces of information excruciatingly minute). However, God kept it on my heart, and just last week one of my co-workers told me she thought that I should have a blog to show off the "witty" side of me that many don't know.
While talking the other evening and thoroughly enjoying the time to just sit and chat with each other, Colin stated that he thought I should start my blog. He said it would be fun and was also interested in posting a "Col"umn here and there, as he does have a great sense of humor and may be able to help eliminate the boredom caused by my matter-of-fact nature. So here we are, embarking on a blogging adventure together! I promise to keep my details in check and not post the mundane, and this promises to be an interesting ride!
