adoption #2 timeline

3/6/16 : completed and submitted registration packet

3/11/16 : phone call with family advocate (same social worker as last time)

3/14/26 : mailed in check for home study update

3/25/16 : received home study paperwork

4/9/16 : completed home study paperwork (except for medical forms and copy of Ephraim's birth certificate)

4/12/16 : mailed in home study paperwork

4/18/16 : received copy of Ephraim's birth certificate for our file

4/23/16 : fingerprinting

4/25/16 : mailed Ephraim's birth certificate, fingerprinting, and program fee

5/3/16 : agency-assisted private track training

5/9/16 : announced that we are adopting again!

5/16/16 : picked up Ephraim's completed medical form

5/19/16 : Colin's doctor's appointment for medical form

5/21/16 : home study update visit from social worker (same one as last time)

5/25/16 : Ashley's doctor's appointment for medical form/profile books ordered

5/28/16 : final paperwork mailed to agency (medical forms)

6/7/16 : profile books arrived at agency

6/20/16 : officially a waiting family!

7/6/16 : 1st profiling opportunity

7/19/16 : 2nd profiling opportunity (we declined having our profile shown)

7/25/16 : call from our agency that expectant mother from 1st profiling opportunity loved our profile and wanted to talk on the phone. Spoke with expectant mother, matched.

7/27/16 : match ended

8/23/16 : 3rd opportunity. Call from our agency that we were blind profiled (profiles sent before we knew of the opportunity), and the expectant mother had narrowed it down to us and one other family. She wanted to meet with us both.  We said yes to moving forward.

8/25/16 : met with expectant mother

9/9/16 : learned that expectant mother chose the other family (where the baby will be greatly loved and grow up knowing about Jesus - of this we know for sure and in this we take comfort).

10/26/16 : contacted by a family friend about an expectant mother

11/17/16 : met with expectant father and grandparents

1/11/17 : met with expectant mother

2/18/17 : baby girl is born! We got to the hospital a few minutes after she was born, because she came very quickly! Spent day in hospital with her and her birthparents.

2/20/17 : Brynn Leigh is discharged from the hospital and comes home

6/19/17 : Finalization court date! Our adoption of Brynn is official!
