Anniversary weekend staycation

Since I first discovered the Inn on Broadway, I've always wanted to go there. While it wasn't feasible to stay there on our wedding night, Col randomly heard about a chance to bid on a weekend package. So, last summer, we "won" a 2-night stay and $100 gift certificate to their restaurant Tournedos, and all at a discount of 67%!

What better time to use it than to celebrate our one year anni?! After waking up on Friday afternoon after our drive home from Disney, we re-packed and headed to our weekend staycation. Having never done a staycation, I was nervous that we'd be bored or that it would be weird to stay in our own city of residence, but we had a blast!

The Inn is gorgeous and we were treated to a large room with a gas fireplace. Our first night there we ate at their restaurant and were able to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner (thanks to the gift certificate!). It was delicious!

Saturday, after a breakfast at the Inn, we pretended to be tourists and walked to the George Eastman House which surprisingly, neither of us has seen in its entirety. After our tour we enjoyed a walk to Park Ave., where we ate a late lunch at Classy Cookie. We headed back to our hotel to relax before walking to the Knighthawks game, which they won! That evening we enjoyed reliving our wedding day by watching our wedding DVD.

Sunday we attended the late service at church, and after a brief stop, headed off to the High Falls area to tour their museum and take the walking tour, which concluded our weekend.

Doubtful before, but no more. Staycations rock! We had so much fun touring some of the wonderful attractions in our city. And the Inn was everything and more. What a perfect weekend to celebrate our 1st anniversary!
